Shyam Metalics, a leading name in the metal and energy sector, has released its consolidated sales performance for February 2025. Despite the challenge of having three fewer selling days compared to January, the company has showcased resilience across multiple segments.
Stainless Steel Performance
- Sales Volume: 8,552 MT (110% YoY increase, 5% MoM decrease)
- Average Realization: Rs. 129,227 per MT (10% YoY increase, 3% MoM increase)
The stainless steel segment exhibited a robust 110% year-on-year growth in sales volume, coupled with a 10% rise in realization prices. However, month-on-month, sales volume dipped by 5%, though realization per metric ton improved by 3%.
Aluminium Foil Sales Performance
- Sales Volume: 1,686 MT (23% YoY increase, 14% MoM decrease)
- Average Realization: Rs. 351,778 per MT (13% YoY increase, 3% MoM increase)
Shyam Metalics saw a 23% YoY rise in aluminium foil sales, supported by a 13% increase in realization prices. However, on a month-over-month basis, the segment experienced a 14% drop in volume, while realization improved by 3%.
Specialty Alloys Performance
- Sales Volume: 17,067 MT (0.44% YoY increase, 2% MoM increase)
- Average Realization: Rs. 92,759 per MT (2% YoY decrease, 0.16% MoM increase)
The specialty alloys sector remained steady, with a modest 0.44% YoY growth in volume. However, realization prices saw a 2% decline YoY, while MoM numbers showed marginal improvement.
Carbon Steel Performance
- Sales Volume: 133,531 MT (5% YoY decrease, 17.74% MoM decrease)
- Average Realization: Rs. 43,743 per MT (0.41% YoY decrease, 1% MoM increase)
Despite a slight 0.41% YoY dip in realization prices, carbon steel witnessed a 5% YoY drop in sales volumes and a significant 17.74% MoM decrease.
Pig Iron Performance
- Sales Volume: 25,781 MT (80.53% MoM increase)
- Average Realization: Rs. 32,836 per MT (1% MoM increase)
Pig iron sales saw a massive 80.53% MoM surge in volume, while realization prices increased 1% MoM.
Sponge Iron Performance
- Sales Volume: 75,645 MT (20% YoY decrease, 11% MoM decrease)
- Average Realization: Rs. 24,258 per MT (3% YoY decrease, 1% MoM increase)
Sponge iron saw a 20% YoY volume drop, though the realization prices declined 3% YoY. Month-over-month, sales volume fell by 11%, but realization increased by 1%.
Pellet Sales Performance
- Sales Volume: 46,386 MT (26% YoY decrease, 40% MoM decrease)
- Average Realization: Rs. 8,838 per MT (3% YoY decrease, 1% MoM increase)
Pellet sales saw a 26% YoY decline and a steep 40% MoM drop in sales volume. The realization per metric ton also decreased by 3% YoY, while marginally improving by 1% MoM.
CR Coil/CR Sheets Performance
- Sales Volume: 5,703 MT (130% MoM increase)
- Average Realization: Rs. 68,878 per MT (0.19% MoM decrease)
A major highlight for February 2025 was the 130% MoM increase in CR Coil/CR Sheet sales volumes. The company also entered the Color Coated Sheets market, selling 350 MT as part of the total 5,703 MT in sales.
