John Abraham, who won over audience with his performance in negative role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan, recently hinted at his involvement in Pathaan series, but not necessarily in Pathaan 2. The actor hinted at a prequel focusing on his character, Jim, which might happen before his character turns bitter.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, John stated, “I think he (Adi) gets me right, and hopefully we’ll be doing a prequel to Jim before he goes bitter. So that should be happening.”
For the unversed, John played the character, Jim, a ruthless antagonist in the 2023 film Pathaan. He was depicted to be a former RAW agent who turned against his country after a personal tragedy. His backstory reveals that he was once a patriot who became a mercenary after his family was killed by terrorists, and India refused to negotiate for their release. The actor had received significant appreciation for his portrayal of Jim.
Speaking of Pathan, the movie marked SRK’s return to cinema after a gap of almost 5 years. It also starred Deepika Padukone in the lead role. Pathaan was helmed by Siddharth Anand and was backed by Yash Raj Films.
Meanwhile, on the work front, John is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming film, Diplomat.
