Saba Azad has been receiving decent reviews for her latest crime thriller, Crime Beat, which also stars Saqib Saleem. The actress recently talked about her complex relationship with social media. Known for being particular about her career choices, she shed light on how social media presence influences casting decisions in today’s entertainment industry.

During an interview with moneycontrol, Saba got candid over her love-hate relationship with social media, and admitted to struggling to maintain consistency online. She explained that he posting habits are a bit unpredictable as she would post for a couple of days, and then disappear for months.

While she acknowledged the advantages of social media, especially its role in providing immediate access to real news, she also expressed concerns over the growing trend of casting actors based on their follower count, rather than focusing on their acting skill or passion for the craft.

“People are also being cast as actors based on the number of followers they have, even if they’re not actors or have had no prior interest in acting. Now people are turning to social media, thinking, ‘It’s cool, let’s cast this person,’ or they are getting work solely through social media. I myself get brand work through social media. So, there are pros and cons,” she revealed.
