Nearly a week since the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man, his uncle Justin Blake said the police union’s version of events is “garbage” and “insulting.”
Mr Justin said his nephew did not have a weapon and “didn’t deserve to be shot seven times in his back.”
“We’re not going to allow them to come back a week later and talk about some type of weapon being involved after they temporarily paralyzed my nephew. As his uncle, that’s insulting,” Blake said.
His uncle’s fiery remarks came after the union representing the officer released the facts of what led to the shooting.
Who is Jacob Blake?
About 3 months after the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, another 29-year-old black man — Jacob Blake — was shot several times by the Kenosha police in Wisconsin on Sunday.
The shooting captured on cellphone video quickly went viral, triggering a fresh wave of protests against racial injustice in several cities of the US.
