Shraddha Kapoor’s latest film, Stree 2, has emerged as one of the biggest hits at the box office. The horror comedy has been directed by Amar Kaushik and stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. The fans of Shraddha are quite pleased for her. But did you know the actress would’ve had a second release this year in the film that now stars Triptii Dimri?
A movie, which now stars Triptii, almost had Shraddha in the lead role. The movie we are talking about is the Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video movie. The romantic comedy is helmed by Raaj Shandilyaa, with Rajkummar Rao in the lead alongside Triptii, who disclosed that among the considerations for the movie, Shraddha was one of them.
Talking to Mid-day, Raaj was asked who was his first choice for the female lead opposite Rajkummar. The Dream Girl director also revealed the reason for why he jettisoned the thought of having Shraddha as the female protagonist, as he stated, “We considered Nushrratt [Bharuccha], Janhvi [Kapoor], and Bhumi [Pednekar] but Raj had already worked with all of them. We had also thought of Shraddha but Raj was doing Stree 2 with her. Then we thought of trying Triptii.” He added that he has watched her previous work and is aware that she is a good actress.
The movie will also mark a comeback for Mallika Sherawat.
