After shattering box office records across the globe, Ranveer Singh’s high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar (Part 1) is ready to conquer a new frontier. The Aditya Dhar-directed blockbuster is officially set for a grand theatrical release in Japan on July 10, 2026.

The announcement was made by the makers on Wednesday, April 29, via a collaborative Instagram post featuring a stylized Japanese poster. “It’s time for Japan to experience the Dhurandhar energy!” the caption read, sparking immediate excitement among international cinema fans.

Since its initial global debut on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has emerged as a historical landmark in Indian cinema. The film has reportedly grossed over ₹1,328 crore worldwide, securing its place as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in North America. Its unprecedented success in Canada, Australia, and the UK has paved the way for this expansion into the Japanese market, a territory increasingly receptive to Indian spectacle following the success of films like RRR.

Directed by Aditya Dhar—the visionary behind Uri: The Surgical Strike—the film follows a high-stakes covert operation. Ranveer Singh plays an undercover Indian intelligence agent infiltrating dangerous criminal and political networks to dismantle a terror cell. The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is envisioned as a two-part duology. While Part 1 continues to expand its international footprint, the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated releases of the year. For Japanese audiences, July 10 marks the beginning of an immersive cinematic journey filled with technical finesse, layered storytelling, and Ranveer Singh’s signature electrifying performance.
