An NGO, Pratham Education Foundation is conducting classes in Kandivali and Borivali to train house-helps to work safely amidst the Coronavirus situation. This move comes after both the regions started recording more COVID-19 cases.
35 women took part in these classes on Tuesday and they are being trained in various technical and non-technical aspects. The need to work with masks, hairnets and sanitizier was empathized. The classes focused on getting the work done in the least amount of time with less interaction with the members of the house.
The NGO is also trying to get them loans of Rs 10,000, so that they are able to afford better equipment to work efficiently. House-helps have been getting half the salary since the lockdown and therefore they say it was imperative to get this training to earn what they were earning before.
