Filmmaker Mudassar Aziz is happy with the audience and critics’ response to his film Khel Khel Mein starring Akshay Kumar in the title role. Though the movie opened to a lackluster show initially, which was majorly because of being pitted against two big films – Stree 2 and Vedaa, -KKM has managed to soldier on.

“My opinion would obviously be one of emotional attachment with KKM. So, I will take an objective standpoint and say films like Kantara (2022) and Pushpa: The Rise (2021), when they started off, actually did box office numbers across a stretch of a number of days,” says Aziz, contrasting this with films which did good number on OTT platforms and continued the success at the theatres, like Laapataa Ladies.

Aziz also says that the theatrical business is evolving: “When I see theatrical business, I see that there has been a change.”

He added that he would be lying if he said that the box office figures does not affect him, but he is glad that there is a bright side to look onto.

Meanwhile, Khel Khel Mein was a multi starrer, which included Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Pragya Jaiswal, Ammy Virk, and Vaani Kapoor.
