Legendary lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar joined his daughter Zoya Akhtar at Expresso, which was held in Mumbai on Thursday. During their conversation, the father – daughter duo discussed the contemporary Hindi cinema, wherein the veteran writer heaped praise on Alia Bhatt, and talked about her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Zoya, who is set to produce film – Jee Le Zaraa – with Alia, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, gave an update on the project and revealed the reason behind its delay. She assured the fans that the film is very much in pipeline, however, the makers are not able to align dates of all three stars. “I think aligning the three of them, their dates, and Farhan, his dates,” said Zoya.
Zoya has collaborated with father Javed saab on several projects such as Luck By Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne do. Recently, the producer has co-produced the docuseries on famous writer duo – Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan – along with Farhan Akhtar and Salman Khan.
