In yet another such incident, a goods train derailed in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district on Wednesday. The incident took place near Rangapani railway station of the district. As per reports, two wagons of the train went off tracks, however, no injuries have been reported.

Earlier, on June 17, a freight train had collided with the Kanchanjunga Express on the same route, resulting in the death of nine people. In a similar incident, a goods train had derailed on July 21 in Bengal’s Ranaghat. In an interaction with media, Sealdah Eastern Railway DRM Deepak Nigan had said that the rear guard bogie of a goods train derailed in the goods ward of Ranaghat during internal shunting.
