Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri starrer Bad Newz has been running in the theatres for a week now and it has been performing better than expected. The movie, which also stars Ammy Virk, was not mounted on a huge budget, so it does not make it a big film.
Considering that, the numbers coming in are very good. The movie opened with Rs. 8 crore on Friday and witnessed a jump on Saturday and Sunday. The total first week’s collection for it was close to Rs. 30 crore, which was predicted.
However, it saw a huge dip on Monday, falling to Rs. 3.5 crore, which is still considered decent for a weekday. It remained steady with that number of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Now, as the movie is headed to touch its Rs. 50 crore mark, it has been facing severe competition from Deadpool & Wolverine. For all the obvious reasons, this Hollywood biggie is the talk of the town and creating a lot of buzz. So, the real test for Bad Newz shall be this weekend.
There are no major Hindi releases until August 2, when Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Dum Kaha hits the theatre.
