The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (GE Shipping) has successfully taken delivery of the 2014 Japanese-built Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier “Jag Abhishek,” with a deadweight tonnage (dwt) of approximately 81,094. The acquisition was completed on 30th April 2026, following a contract made in the fourth quarter of FY26. Notably, the purchase was financed entirely through internal accruals.
With this addition, GE Shipping’s current owned fleet has expanded to 41 vessels. This fleet includes 26 tankers, comprising 5 crude tankers, 17 product tankers, and 4 LPG carriers, alongside 15 dry bulk carriers, which consist of 2 Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, 1 Ultramax, and 2 Supramax vessels. The total aggregate deadweight tonnage now stands at 3.28 million dwt, and the company reports a near 100% capacity utilisation.
Furthermore, GE Shipping has entered into agreements to purchase a secondhand Medium Range Tanker and to sell its Medium Range Tankers “Jag Prakash” and “Jag Pankhi.” These transactions are anticipated to conclude in the first quarter of FY27.
