Strands is the latest daily puzzle sensation from the New York Times. A more challenging spin on the classic word search, Strands demands a sharp eye and a keen mind to crack.

Just like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can sometimes be quite the brain teaser. Don’t worry if you need a little help now and then. If today’s Strands puzzle has you stumped, check out the answers below.

How to play Strands

In each Strands puzzle, your mission is to discover the “theme words” hidden within a grid of letters. You manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the final letter to confirm. Correct words will be highlighted in blue and will become unselectable.

Even non-theme words are valuable! For every three non-theme words you find that are at least four letters long, you earn a hint — a set of letters from one of the theme words will be revealed, which you then unscramble.

Every letter in the grid is used exactly once to spell out the theme words, with no overlap.

Each puzzle includes one “spangram,” a special theme word (or words) that connects two opposite sides of the board and embodies the puzzle’s theme. Spangrams are highlighted in yellow when found.

The aim is to solve the puzzle swiftly without relying too much on hints.
