An Indian woman drying clothes on the balcony of an ultra-luxurious Dubai hotel has invited plenty of “peak desi mom” comments, some criticism and a reply from the hotel itself.
Earlier this week, Pallavi Venkatesh shared a video of her mother hanging clothes to dry on the balcony of Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. The video, which was captioned, “Moms just momming at Palm Atlantis,” also featured balcony with clothes out to dry in the similar manner.
Ever since she shared the video, it has garnered over 11 million views and over 900 comments. One of the comments read, “Moms are such cuties.” However, many users also criticised it as “bad manners.”
What grabbed the most attention was a comment from the official hotel account. After applauding the Indian woman for carrying out “mom duties”, it also reminded them to use retractable drying cord provided in every bathroom to dry their clothes.
