Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 blockbuster Animal was quite a topic and had divided the internet over it. Director Anurag Kashyap showcased his public support towards Ranbir Kapoor starrer and was called out by his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap. She hated the movie and called it horrible. The Dev D director recalled having a conversation with his daughter later, and this is how it went.
In an interview with Janice Sequeira, the filmmaker said that his daughter called him out as she despised the movie and was furious when he posted a photo of him and Animal director from their meeting and congratulated him. He added that he was also criticized by his friends for posting the picture.
“They all came home and asked me ten thousand questions. And I was like, “Tum baki sab toh chhod do, picture ka naam kya hai?” Animal. It is not named ‘Human’. Why did the film become so difficult? Because everyone’s favourite Ranbir Kapoor played the role,” said Anurag.
However, despite all the criticism, Vanga is working on Animal sequel, Animal Park, which will have double role of Ranbir Kapoor.
