In January 2024, the palace announced that the princess will be undergoing an abdominal surgery. Post the surgery, Kate remained absent from the public eye, which started tons of speculations on the internet.

After maintaining a lowkey status, the princess released a video message in March 2024, announcing that she has been diagnosed with cancer. While the type of cancer has been kept classified, Kate revealed that she is on early stage of preventative chemotherapy, which was advised by her medical team.
