Contrary to what was being reported earlier about Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh’s 83, Reliance Entertainment has confirmed that both the films will have a theatrical release. It was being reported that amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic both the films would get digital releases. But that is not the case anymore.

Reliance CEO Shibashish Sarkar had recently said, in an interview, that they are 100% inclined to take the theatrical route. However, at the same time, he added that they don’t want to delay the release further than practically possible. And according to him, that means they will not like to push the release dates beyond Diwali /Christmas.

He told Bollywood Hungama that their first option is to go theatrical if cinemas open up and audiences are back. Confirming the same development, Reliance Entertainment put up a tweet today that read, “We are very confident that the ongoing theatrical exhibition situation will improve much in time for the release of our awaited films, Sooryavanshi and 83, this Diwali and Christmas, respectively.”
