Judy Garland’s daughter testified recently that her mother had tragedies in her life but she wasn’t tragic.
The “Wizard of Oz” icon Judy Garland who died in 1969 when she was 42 from an overdose of barbiturate had a tempestuous life, though she never forgot to enjoy the joyous moments with her close loved ones.
Garland’s son Joey Luft said, “I remember having a lot of fun with her when we were alone”.
The 75-year old expressed that it said that it was the biggest misconception that his mother didn’t provide him with a happy childhood.
” There were highs and lows for sure, I can say I was happy”
Minnelli observed that her mother was a protective yet a strict parent but also hilarious in witty.
She unveiled that she talked to her for hours and was her best friend and the greatest confidante.
Minnelli still feels her mother’s presence and said she’s there when she called her
“And I call her a lot..” She added.
The actress married Vincente Minnelli in 1945. The marriage lasted till 1951.
His comments on his late wife were along the lines of how wonderful she was.
The 84-year-old acknowledged her great childlike nature with the kids
