Godawari Power & Ispat has successfully commissioned its 25 MWp captive solar power plant located in Chawardhal, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. The plant was synchronised with the grid on 19th May 2026, marking a significant step in the company’s renewable energy initiatives.
The electricity generated from this solar power plant will be used for captive consumption at the Ari Dongri and Boria Tibu iron ore mines. This move is expected to replace the high-cost power currently purchased from the state Discom, thereby reducing operational costs and supporting the company’s green initiatives.
The commissioning of this solar power plant is part of Godawari Power & Ispat‘s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and enhance sustainability in its operations. By shifting to solar energy, the company aims to contribute to environmental conservation while ensuring cost efficiency in its mining activities.
