Once expected to be one of Netflix Korea’s major releases for late 2025, the romance drama Can This Love Be Translated? has reportedly been pushed back further. According to a recent update from Max Movie, a Netflix official stated that the platform is “preparing this work as a key project for 2026,” indicating a significant shift in the streaming giant’s release plans.
Originally slated for a second-half-2025 premiere, the drama—starring Kim Seon Ho and Go Yoon Jung—had already unveiled early stills, raising anticipation among fans. However, reports now suggest that Netflix is eyeing a January or February 2026 launch, with the production currently said to be in its final preparation stages. A broadcasting industry insider also confirmed this status.
The series was initially announced as part of Netflix’s 2025 lineup during the Next on Netflix Korea showcase in February. While no official reason has been publicly detailed, industry sources believe that quality enhancement efforts are behind the release date adjustment.
The drama centers on Joo Ho Jin (Kim Seon Ho), a skilled multilingual interpreter who begins working closely with top star Cha Mu Hee (Go Yoon Jung). The two hold opposite philosophies on love, but their constant proximity slowly deepens their understanding—and affection—for each other.
Written by the celebrated Hong Sisters (Jung Eun & Mi Ran) and directed by Yoo Young Eun, the project has already gained significant buzz thanks to its strong creative team and star-studded leads.
