President Donald Trump has stopped trade talks with Canada after becoming increasingly frustrated with the slow progress, according to White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett.

In an interview with Fox News, Hassett said the discussions with Canada have not been friendly or productive. He added that the president is unhappy with how things are going, saying Trump wants a strong deal with Canada, just like he does with Mexico.

Speaking to reporters later, Hassett explained that the frustration has been building for some time. He pointed to what he called a “lack of flexibility” from Canadian negotiators as one of the main reasons behind the breakdown in talks.
