The beloved K-drama Reply 1988 is approaching its 10th anniversary on November 6, 2025, and fans have been eagerly hoping for a reunion of the cast. After months of speculation, the team seems to be moving forward with plans. On August 13, OSEN reported that the production team, led by writer Lee Woo Jung and director Shin Won Ho, is planning a group trip to celebrate the milestone. The trip, organized by Egg Is Coming, is expected to take place in Gangwon-do in October and will be featured on producer Na Young Seok’s YouTube channel, Channel Fullmoon. While the report confirms that plans are underway, nothing has been finalized yet.

Naturally, questions immediately arose about Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri, the former couple who met on the show and dated for several years after its airing. Their relationship ended in November 2023, followed by a public exchange of words involving Ryu Jun Yeol’s current girlfriend, Han So Hee, and Hyeri. Given the history, fans wondered if the two could comfortably appear together during the anniversary event.

It now appears that a reunion between the two is unlikely. Ryu Jun Yeol, who played Kim Jung Hwan, will be skipping the trip due to his busy schedule filming the drama The Rat, according to his agency, UAA. His absence essentially ends speculation about any on-camera interaction between him and Hyeri during the October trip.

For fans, the group MT will still be a chance to see many of the Reply 1988 cast members together and celebrate the show’s legacy, even if the anticipated reunion between Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri won’t happen this time.
