The spooky queen of Nevermore is back. Wednesday season 2 part 1 has officially premiered on Netflix, and fans are thrilled to see Jenna Ortega reprise her role as the darkly iconic Wednesday Addams. Picking up right after the cliffhanger of season 1, the new chapter dives deeper into the Addams family’s secrets, introduces chilling new mysteries, and unleashes another string of murders that put Wednesday in the center of danger once again.
The returning cast includes Emma Meyers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Fred Armisen, while the internet is buzzing about the news that Lady Gaga will make a cameo appearance in upcoming episodes.
Season 2 Part 1 Ending Explained
The midseason finale, episode 4 titled If These Woes Could Talk, ends on a jaw-dropping note. Wednesday teams up with her grandmother and heads to the graveyard to inspect urns said to contain outcast ashes, only to discover that none of them actually hold human remains. Suspicious, they ask Uncle Fester to sneak into Willow Hill in search of Lois.
Meanwhile, Wednesday’s eager protégé, Agnes, learns that the outcasts’ forged death certificates were signed by Augustus Stonehurst, a former Nevermore teacher turned Willow Hill doctor. At the same time, Nevermore comes under attack by a swarm of deadly birds, leaving Thing badly injured. Wednesday chases down a hooded shadow she believes is the killer known as the Avian, while Thing helps Fester track down Stonehurst.
Though Stonehurst is still alive, he is now elderly and unable to speak. However, his parrot becomes the unlikely informant, giving Fester a list of cryptic numbers that could lead to Lois’ whereabouts.
The real chaos strikes in the episode’s final act. Wednesday attempts to lead a mysterious outcast away from Willow Hill, but her plan is interrupted when she comes face-to-face with Tyler in his full Hyde form. While her companion manages to escape, Hyde seizes the other woman and hurls her from a window just as the police arrive.
The last moments are chilling: viewers see Wednesday lying bloodied on the ground. Over a haunting voiceover, she reflects: “I’ve always dreamed of looking death in the face. But in my final moments, all I hear is my mother’s words ringing in my ears: Maybe I have made everything worse. Much worse.”
When Will Part 2 Arrive?
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see what becomes of Wednesday Addams. Wednesday season 2 part 2 is set to drop on September 3, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. With Wednesday’s fate hanging in the balance and the Hyde still on the loose, the second half promises even darker twists, more shocking reveals, and the return of Lady Gaga’s long-awaited cameo.
