Selena Gomez celebrated a milestone with the launch of Rare Beauty’s first-ever fragrance, Rare Eau de Parfum, on Thursday night, August 7, at the Santa Monica Post Office in California. The singer, actress, and beauty mogul radiated excitement, especially as she met members of the Love Island USA Season 7 cast for the first time.
For the launch, Gomez dazzled in a shimmering mother-of-pearl Cult Gaia gown featuring a halterneck, open back, and draped fringes, paired with matching Cult Gaia shoes and Melinda Maria jewelry. The event not only spotlighted the debut fragrance—now available online—but also drew a star-studded crowd, including Love Island USA cast members Nicolas Vansteenberghe, Olandria Carthen, Ace Greene, Iris Kendall, Chelley Bissainthe, Pepe Garcia, and Hannah Fields, some of whom arrived after attending a Variety event earlier in the evening.
Notably absent were fan favorites and Love Island USA winners Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales. However, earlier in the week, Espinal—also known as Amaya Papaya—shared a TikTok video with Gomez in which they tried the new fragrance together and expressed excitement over finally meeting in person.
Beyond the fragrance launch, Gomez is keeping busy preparing for her wedding to fiancé Benny Blanco and working on the upcoming season of Only Murders in the Building. Earlier in the week, she and Blanco enjoyed a date night at a cooking class in Century City, where Gomez sported Jacquemus flared denim capris and slingback kitten heels, balancing her busy schedule with personal moments of joy.
