Jennifer Lopez has shifted her energy fully toward her career and family in the wake of her divorce from Ben Affleck. The pair, who famously rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot a year later, ended their marriage in 2024. While their reunion was once seen as a real-life fairy tale, Lopez has since focused on building strength through work and creative projects.
Sources close to the star told People that Lopez has been keeping herself busy with a packed schedule, including red-carpet appearances and her global musical tour Up All Night. The tour, in particular, has been a healing outlet, allowing her to reconnect with fans and find joy in performing. One insider noted that she loved being on stage, traveling, and interacting with audiences worldwide, calling the experience “a great focus for her” during a transitional year.
Alongside her music, Lopez has spent quality time with her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, balancing motherhood with her professional commitments. Friends of the singer describe her as entering the “summer of her lifetime,” embracing her independence and finding fulfillment in both work and family life.
Lopez is also gearing up for major screen projects. She recently promoted her wrestling drama Unstoppable at the Toronto Film Festival, where she not only starred but also produced the film with Matt Damon and Affleck. Another highly anticipated role is her turn in Kiss of the Spider Woman, which will arrive in theaters on October 10. According to insiders, this project was filmed during a difficult period in her marriage, but Lopez has since come a long way emotionally and is now focused on gratitude and happiness.
As for her divorce, legal documents cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause, with the official date of separation marked as April 26, 2024. While the split closed a chapter many fans hoped would last, Lopez is carving a new one for herself—one filled with career milestones, creative passion, and family at the center of her life.
