Nick Jonas took a deeply emotional final bow last night as Jamie in the Broadway revival of The Last Five Years, visibly moved with tears in his eyes. The two-person musical, which explores the rise and fall of a relationship between Jamie, a novelist, and Cathy, an actress, concluded its acclaimed six-month run.
Jonas shared the poignant moment on Instagram, posting a selfie with the caption, “Last night as Jamie.” His wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, was there to support him, sharing a photo of his final bow and congratulating both Nick and his co-star Adrienne Warren on Instagram.
The Last Five Years, written by Jason Robert Brown, tells Cathy and Jamie’s story over five years—his narrative unfolding chronologically while hers moves in reverse. This Broadway revival marked the show’s first-ever run on Broadway after previously touring and Off-Broadway performances. Nick Jonas expressed that the role resonates with his current emotional maturity, saying he better understands the highs and lows Jamie experiences. Throughout its 14-week run, the production received widespread acclaim from audiences and celebrities alike.
Priyanka was a frequent presence at previews and opening night, showing her pride and support for Nick. Despite his strong performance, Jonas admitted to feeling stage fright due to the show’s devoted fanbase. The revival opened on April 6, directed by Whitney White, and features a powerful, uninterrupted score that includes standout songs like “Nobody Needs to Know” and “Still Hurting.” This production also marked the 25th anniversary of Jason Robert Brown’s original composition of the show.
