Sophie Turner is showing there’s no bad blood with her ex-husband Joe Jonas. On Saturday, May 24, she publicly supported his new music by sharing a link to his latest solo album on her Instagram Stories. Alongside the post, she wrote a short but sweet message: “Go go @joejonas.”
Joe’s new album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, dropped just a day earlier on Friday, May 23. This release marks a significant moment for him — it’s his first solo project since Fastlife, which came out back in 2011.
Fans are paying attention not just because it’s new music from Joe Jonas, but also because the album reflects his recent personal experiences — including his very public divorce from Sophie Turner.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Joe revealed that the album wasn’t originally meant to be a solo effort. He and his brothers were writing songs for the Jonas Brothers when one particular track struck a personal chord. He asked for their blessing to take the song and explore it on his own. His brother Nick Jonas supported the decision, joking, “I’m jealous, but I get it. I didn’t write on it, so I can’t really say no.”
Joe ended up working with songwriters like Justin Trainor, Alexander 23, and Lush to complete the album in just a few weeks. He said he was so eager to release the music that he almost put it out last fall, but in hindsight, he’s glad he waited. One of the songs, Heart by Heart, wouldn’t have made it onto the album if he’d released it earlier.
Joe has also shared that the album was deeply influenced by the emotional rollercoaster of his split from Sophie. Speaking to Billboard in August 2024, he described the time as both “scary and freeing.” He made it clear that the songs aren’t meant to call anyone out or spill personal secrets. Instead, they reflect his inner world — as he’s been figuring out who he is as a person, a father, and a friend. In the middle of all this change, music became a way to process everything.
Turner’s support, despite their breakup, shows a level of maturity and mutual respect that fans have praised. It’s a reminder that even after romantic relationships end, appreciation and encouragement can still exist — especially when it comes to creative expression.
