Sydney Sweeney is officially diving back into the chaos as Cassie in the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria. Joining returning cast members like Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, Sweeney teases that the new season is going to be nothing short of “unhinged.”

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Sweeney opened up about her love for playing Cassie—flawed, impulsive, and deeply emotional. “She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes… but she does it all from a place of love,” Sweeney said. “It could be a sad version of love as well. It’s so much fun to play a character who is as crazy as she is.”

She also revealed that this season might just show Cassie at her peak—both in happiness and in pure unfiltered chaos. “Cassie has never been happier and never been crazier,” she shared. Working again with showrunner Sam Levinson, Sweeney added, “I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’”

Season 3 officially began production in January 2025, and the entire main cast is set to return. Following the dark and twisted turns of Season 2—including Cassie’s infamous affair with Nate, her best friend’s abusive ex—fans can expect even more intensity in the upcoming episodes.

Outside of Euphoria, Sweeney has wrapped filming an untitled biopic of boxer Christy Martin, showing her versatility beyond the glitter and trauma of East Highland.

Euphoria Season 3 is expected to premiere in late 2025 or early 2026, promising even more emotionally volatile drama, dazzling visuals, and character meltdowns that will undoubtedly dominate social media once again.
