Hugh Jackman’s relationship with Broadway actress Sutton Foster seems to be growing more serious. According to reports, Sutton is slowly moving her things into Hugh’s New York penthouse. This luxury apartment is in Manhattan’s Chelsea area and was bought by Hugh and his former wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, in 2022 for over 21 million dollars. Though Hugh and Sutton haven’t officially moved in together, sources say they are spending most of their time under the same roof.
A source shared that the two are “inseparable” and that Sutton is gradually settling into Hugh’s space. This news hasn’t been easy for Deborra-Lee. Reports suggest she feels heartbroken seeing another woman take over a home she once shared and helped create with Hugh. While she wants Hugh to be happy, she reportedly feels that he might be rushing into this new relationship too quickly. The breakup has been emotionally tough for her, and she wants to be treated with care and fairness so she can heal and move on.
Hugh and Sutton first met while working together on the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man. At the time, both were in other relationships. Romance rumors between them began in October 2023, and they confirmed their relationship publicly in January this year after being seen on a date in Los Angeles. People close to the couple say their bond feels natural and easy, since they’ve known each other for a long time.
However, not everyone sees the relationship lasting. According to another report, someone close to Deborra-Lee believes this may be just a phase for Hugh—a kind of mid-life crisis—and expects the relationship with Sutton to fade within a year.
Even though Hugh and Deborra-Lee have separated, they haven’t officially filed for divorce yet. One of the reasons for the delay might be the absence of a prenup, which is said to be making the legal process more complicated.
