Justin Baldoni’s attorneys have accused Blake Lively of pressuring Taylor Swift to publicly support Lively in the ongoing It Ends With Us lawsuit. According to a court filing on May 14 by Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman, Lively allegedly asked Swift to delete certain text messages and threatened to leak private conversations if Swift didn’t back her publicly. Freedman described these threats as “inappropriate and apparently extortionate.”
Lively’s lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, responded strongly, calling the allegations “categorically false” and “cowardly sourced to anonymous sources.” He accused Baldoni’s legal team of making baseless claims without evidence and said motions will be filed to hold them accountable for what he called misconduct.
Taylor Swift’s team has distanced her from the controversy, emphasizing that Swift had no involvement beyond licensing her song My Tears Ricochet for the film’s soundtrack. They stated Swift never saw or worked on the movie and suggested the subpoena and allegations are attempts to drag her name into the spotlight to stir public interest.
The legal battle continues as both sides dig in ahead of the trial, set for March 2026.
