Jennifer Lopez recently opened up about how she told her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, that she and Ben Affleck were getting divorced. Talking to the Spanish newspaper El País, she said she didn’t sugarcoat things or try to hide the truth from them. Instead, she chose to be honest during a really tough time. She told her kids something like, “This is going to be hard, but I promise you, I’ll get through it and come out stronger and better.” She wanted them to know that even though it was painful, there was hope on the other side.
Lopez described 2024 as a rough year, full of unexpected challenges. It wasn’t just her personal life—she also faced setbacks professionally, like having to cancel a big tour and putting out a documentary she funded herself. But no matter what was happening around her, her main priority was making sure her kids felt safe and loved.
She said she went into full “mama bear mode,” doing everything she could to support Max and Emme through the emotional ups and downs. Lopez expressed pride in how they all grew stronger from the experience. It wasn’t just about surviving the hard times but becoming better people because of them.
Looking ahead, Jennifer shared that her twins are about to head off to college next year—a big milestone she’s really excited about. She talked about how much they’ve grown up and matured, saying they’re definitely not babies anymore. She noticed they could now feel the positive vibes from her healing journey, which has brought her a deep sense of peace.
Even though she and Ben officially finalized their divorce earlier this year, things between them seem to be friendly now. Ben Affleck has even spoken warmly about Jennifer in public lately, showing that whatever tension there was before seems to be in the past.
Despite all the public attention on her private life, Jennifer said she’s staying grounded. “I’m coming from a place of good intentions,” she said simply. “At the end of the day, I’m human, just like everyone else…learning from my mistakes.”
Right now, Lopez says she’s the happiest she’s felt in years. With her twins doing well and a new world tour coming up, she’s ready to enjoy life again. She described this moment as “perfect” and said the last time she felt this way was about six years ago—before the canceled 2024 tour happened. She explained she only wants to hit the road when it’s something special to celebrate and when everyone can have a blast.
