Bella Hadid was once again absent from the Met Gala

Bella Hadid has managed to earn the title of one of the most talented models at a very young age. Whether it’s walking the runway or making a statement on the red carpet, she has never failed to impress — including with her memorable Met Gala looks in the past.

This year, fans were eagerly waiting to see what Bella would wear to the Met Gala, but unfortunately, she wasn’t there. Instead, it was her sister Gigi who showed up and totally stole the spotlight on the blue carpet.

It’s been a little while since Bella last appeared at the Met Gala. Her most recent walk on those famous steps was back in 2022, when she wore a stunning custom dress by Burberry. A couple of years after that, Bella opened up in an interview with Allure about why she decided to step back from the modeling spotlight for a bit.

Bella explained that after about ten years in the industry, she realized she was putting a lot of energy, love, and effort into something that wasn’t really giving back to her in the same way. She talked about how much she enjoyed styling herself, doing her own makeup and hair, and just being happy with how she looked while hanging out with friends in Texas.

She shared that these times with her friends were some of the best she’s had, and the best part was she didn’t feel pressured to put on a “fake face” or pretend to feel good when she didn’t. Bella said, “If I don’t feel good, I won’t go. If I don’t feel good, I take time for myself.” This was a new feeling for her — something she hadn’t allowed herself before.

Bella also revealed that now, when people see photos of her and say she looks happy, it’s genuine. She said, “My bad days now were my old good days,” meaning she’s in a much better place emotionally than she used to be.

Meanwhile, it was a golden night for her sister Gigi, who dazzled in a custom gold dress by Miu Miu. Gigi’s look was more than just glamorous — it was a tribute to Zelda Wynn Valdes, a legendary dressmaker from the 1940s who made a huge impact in fashion.
