Lady Gaga performed at Brazil’s Copacabana Beach and broke a major record by drawing a crowd of 2.5 million people, according to Variety. The concert was part of a cultural event called Todo Mundo no Rio. With this show, Gaga broke Madonna’s previous record of 1.6 million fans at the same venue.

During the show, Gaga sang some of her biggest hits like Bad Romance, Poker Face, and Born This Way, which are also featured on her new album Mayhem. She even surprised fans by doing a rehearsal at the beach the day before and said from the stage, “I know this is just a rehearsal; it feels like it’s the real show.”

To manage the massive crowd, Brazilian authorities deployed around 5,000 security personnel across key areas like entry, exit points, and near the stage. Drones and surveillance systems were also used to keep everything under control.

Fans dressed up in outfits inspired by Gaga’s music videos and camped out at the beach from early morning until late at night. Reports say about 500,000 tourists joined locals to attend the concert, which was supported by Rio’s City Hall and private sponsors.

Gaga will continue her Mayhem tour across South America and Europe. Her recent concert in Mexico was also a big success.
