Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks is stirring the pot—literally and figuratively—after taking a bold swipe at Meghan Markle and her cooking chops. His blunt critique of Markle’s Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan has now escalated into a mini media storm.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Michelin-starred chef claimed he received a legal warning from Netflix, allegedly telling him to stop making “disparaging” remarks about the Duchess of Sussex. Stocks, however, isn’t backing down. In his words, he had “proper p****d them off” and said the legal warning was nothing more than “a load of nonsense.” He told the outlet that he has no intention of keeping quiet, brushing off the alleged threat as a scare tactic.
Stocks didn’t hold back his opinions, either. He questioned how Markle secured such a major deal with the streaming giant and flat-out said he doesn’t believe she can cook—much less teach others how to. “She shouldn’t be telling people how to cook,” he reportedly scoffed.
But here’s where the drama gets twisty: Netflix has publicly denied ever sending a legal letter to Stocks. A company spokesperson told MailOnline, “No legal letter was sent to Jameson Stocks from Netflix.” Full stop.
Despite this denial, insiders close to the chef say otherwise. They claim Netflix has a pattern of quietly sending such letters to public figures—especially those currently working with competing streaming services, which happens to be Stocks’ current gig. One insider added, “They’re never going to admit it publicly.”
Meanwhile, this is just another headline in the ongoing media frenzy surrounding Meghan Markle’s show. With Love, Meghan has already drawn its share of criticism, including backlash from an episode featuring actress Mindy Kaling. In one viral moment, Markle tells Kaling, “I’m a Sussex now,” while reflecting on how much her royal title means to her—a comment that didn’t sit well with many viewers.
On top of it all, Markle’s new lifestyle brand, As Ever, has added even more fuel to the fire, keeping her firmly in the spotlight—for better or worse.
So far, neither Markle nor Netflix has directly responded to Stocks’ latest remarks beyond the spokesperson’s denial. But if one thing’s clear, it’s this: when food, fame, and royalty mix, things are bound to get spicy.
