In a significant update involving Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin, his estranged wife Victoria has reportedly accepted a plea deal to avoid going to trial for an alleged murder-for-hire plot against him. According to TMZ, Victoria chose to plead guilty in hopes of reducing her potential prison sentence.
The case began in March, when authorities claimed Victoria had been exchanging messages with Grant Amato, a Florida inmate, with whom she allegedly began a relationship after seeing him in the Paramount+ true crime docuseries Ctrl+Alt+Desire. According to People magazine, she was accused of discussing a plan to kill Aaron Goodwin, rather than go through with a divorce. One message reportedly read, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”
Investigators say she had even shared details about Aaron’s filming schedule for Ghost Adventures in California, including when and where he would be on set with co-star Zak Bagans.
Legal filings now confirm that Victoria has agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder. In return, prosecutors will drop the more serious charge of solicitation to commit murder. Additionally, they’ve agreed not to recommend a specific sentence, leaving the final decision to the judge.
Under the plea terms, Victoria faces between 2 and 10 years in prison and may be fined up to $5,000. Her sentencing will be determined at a later date.
Aaron Goodwin reportedly filed for divorce just two days after Victoria’s arrest.
