Jay Shetty recently shared a heartwarming story about his role in Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker’s magical wedding in December 2023. During his appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark on April 7, Shetty revealed that the couple had asked him to officiate their ceremony because of his unique role in bringing them together. Back during the pandemic, Shetty and Joe Jonas led an online meditation group that lasted for 75 weeks. It was through this group that Hudgens and Tucker met, with Shetty describing their connection as a beautiful love story that blossomed via Zoom.

At their wedding in Tulum, Mexico, Shetty was asked to lead a meditation during the ceremony. He recounted a magical moment that took place while everyone had their eyes closed in meditation—afterward, guests shared that a butterfly, which symbolized Hudgens’ butterfly tattoo on her neck, had flown around the ceremony, adding an enchanting touch to the event.

In addition to officiating the wedding, Shetty also recalled how the couple’s love story began. Hudgens had shared in a 2021 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show that she made the first move on Tucker by sliding into his DMs, a gesture she has no shame in making. Their relationship quickly grew, and they got engaged in February 2023. The couple also welcomed a new member to their family on July 3, 2024, which just so happened to be Tucker’s birthday.

The entire story paints a picture of a modern-day fairytale, from their Zoom meetings during the pandemic to their wedding and growing family.
