Meghan Markle recently shared a rare, heartwarming glimpse of her children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3), in a sweet Instagram post on March 24. The photo, posted on her lifestyle brand As Ever’s account, shows Meghan gardening with her kids. In the image, Archie is seen hugging his mother’s leg while Lilibet is perched on her hip, holding a small basket. While the children’s faces are not visible, their distinct red hair, clearly inherited from their father, Prince Harry, is noticeable.
Meghan captioned the post, “Every day is a love story,” reflecting the loving moment captured. This glimpse into their family life comes just months after Prince Harry jokingly acknowledged the strong “ginger gene” in his family. During a January 2023 interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he shared how he initially thought the red hair would not be passed down to his children. “The ginger gene is a strong one!” Harry said, humorously noting how he didn’t expect his kids to inherit it. He later realized that his red hair was indeed passed down to both Archie and Lilibet.
This post is one of the few times Meghan has shared personal photos of her children. Since launching her personal Instagram page, she has occasionally given fans a rare look into her family life. In an interview with PEOPLE, Meghan spoke about how special it was to build her As Ever brand while her children watched her work, calling it a “multigenerational story.” She also shared how meaningful it was to have a daughter, especially given her long-standing commitment to advocating for girls’ rights. Meghan hopes that this legacy will continue with Lilibet as she grows.
As a working mother, Meghan also discussed the challenges of finding balance, mentioning that her Netflix show With Love, Meghan reflects her belief in doing what you can and doing it with love.
While Prince Harry and Meghan have largely kept Archie and Lilibet out of the public spotlight, they occasionally share moments from their family life. In December, the couple included a picture of their children running toward them in their 2024 holiday card, and earlier this month, Meghan posted a picture of Harry and Lilibet together on a boat. Despite their efforts to protect their children’s privacy, these rare glimpses into their growing family are always appreciated by their fans.
