Amanda Seyfried recently shared the delightful news that her 7-year-old daughter, Nina, has become completely obsessed with the beloved musical romantic comedy Mamma Mia! The film, which Seyfried starred in alongside Meryl Streep, continues to charm audiences with its engaging storylines about family, love, and friendship, along with its lively dance numbers and catchy sing-alongs.
In an interview with People magazine, Seyfried revealed that her mother introduced Nina to the movie, sparking her newfound fascination. Seyfried noted, “My mom showed my daughter, and my daughter is now obsessed,” and that Nina’s enthusiasm has spread to her friends at school. Interestingly, Nina now calls her mom by her character’s name, Sophie, which Seyfried found “a little weird, but also beautiful.”
Although Nina might not grasp the film’s themes completely, she loves it, often asking to listen to the soundtrack. Seyfried recalled, “Just the day before, Nina excitedly asked, ‘Can we listen to Mamma Mia! right now?’” She also shared that they enjoyed the song “Lay All Your Love On Me” together, which Seyfried described as a surreal experience, saying it feels “trippy” to hear the music with her daughter.
Additionally, Seyfried has expressed interest in a potential Mamma Mia! sequel. In a previous interview with Collider, she stated that the entire cast would be on board for a third movie, noting the strong camaraderie among them. However, she playfully mentioned concerns about the limited number of ABBA songs left for another installment, joking that they might have to repurpose existing hits like “Super Trouper.”
For fans looking to relive the joy of Mamma Mia!, the film is currently available for streaming on Netflix!
