Brad Pitt and George Clooney, the iconic duo from Ocean’s Eleven, are back together in the new action-comedy film *Wolfs*. The recently released trailer promises a mix of high-octane action and humor. The plot centers around two crime fixers who find themselves forced to collaborate despite their mutual disdain.
The film, written and directed by Jon Watts, known for his work on the Spider-Man movies, features Pitt and Clooney as rival fixers. In the trailer, Pitt’s character is shown arriving to cover up a crime when Clooney’s character appears, also intending to handle the situation. Both characters are surprised to find out that their supposed “dead” target is still alive, leading to a chaotic night of unplanned collaboration.
Despite their similar methods, Pitt and Clooney’s characters repeatedly deny any form of partnership. What starts as a simple job turns into an extended ordeal, filled with comedic friction between the two.
*Wolfs* also stars Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan in significant roles. The film is produced by Apple Studios and Sony Pictures. A teaser released a day before the trailer shows the fixers sharing an awkward silence during a car ride, hinting at the comedic tension that runs throughout the film. Initially planned for an OTT release, Clooney successfully pitched for a theatrical release.
In a recent interview, Clooney explained his push for a theatrical release, citing the financial benefits of box office earnings in addition to streaming revenue. He mentioned that both he and Pitt were invested in ensuring the movie’s success in theaters. Clooney also noted the changing landscape of the film industry, with streaming giants like Netflix potentially buying theaters, and highlighted the recent success of films like *Oppenheimer* and *Barbie* as examples of how theatrical success can enhance streaming performance.
*Wolfs* is set to release on September 20, with a theatrical release in India scheduled for September 27, 2024.
