Following in Beyoncé’s footsteps, this year’s Coachella performers have brought out an array of unexpected collaborators. Lana Del Rey surprised fans by inviting Billie Eilish to join her during her headlining set, while Tyler, The Creator delighted the audience by bringing out Childish Gambino. Mean Girls star Renée Rapp teamed up with Kesha, adding an unexpected twist to her performance.
Meanwhile, Paris Hilton made a surprise appearance alongside Vampire Weekend, and Olivia Rodrigo graced the stage during a performance by No Doubt led by Gwen Stefani. However, perhaps the most buzz-worthy moment came from J Balvin, who stunned the crowd by welcoming none other than Will Smith to the stage during his set on April 14.
Decked out in Ray-Ban sunglasses and a sleek black suit reminiscent of his Men In Black character, Smith treated the audience to a rendition of his 1997 hit “Men In Black,” complete with iconic dance moves. His appearance was fitting, not only because of his musical background but also because it aligned perfectly with the extraterrestrial theme of J Balvin’s performance.
As Smith exited the stage, J Balvin playfully subjected him to a fake memory-erasing machine, adding a whimsical touch to the performance. Balvin’s set list also featured snippets of popular songs like Usher’s “Yeah!” and Cardi B’s “I Like It.”
But the Smith family wasn’t done making waves at Coachella. Across the festival grounds, Will’s daughter, WILLOW, joined Jon Batiste on stage, while Jada Pinkett Smith and Jaden Smith were spotted in the audience, solidifying their status as one of music’s most influential families.
