Arc Boat Company has launched its latest innovation in the electric boating sector with the introduction of the Arc Sport, a premium wake sport model priced at $258,000. The new offering follows the success of the company’s earlier luxury cruiser, the Arc One, and represents a significant step forward in the electrification of water sports.
With the Arc Sport, Arc Boat Company aims to cater to wake sports enthusiasts by providing a high-performance, environmentally friendly option. Boasting a sleek design and advanced technology, the 23-foot Arc Sport can accommodate up to 15 people and offers a top speed of 40 miles per hour. Equipped with a large battery, the boat provides four to six hours of typical use on a single charge, making it ideal for extended sessions on the water.
The debut of the Arc Sport signals Arc Boat Company’s transition to continuous production, with plans to meet the growing demand for electric boats in the market. By offering a premium alternative to traditional fuel-burning models, Arc aims to disrupt the boating industry and address environmental concerns associated with combustion engines.
Mitch Lee, co-founder and CEO of Arc Boat Company, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Drawing from his own experiences as a water sports enthusiast, Lee recognized the need for cleaner and quieter boating options, free from the environmental impact of diesel engines.
Arc’s team, which includes industry veterans from companies like SpaceX, Tesla, and Rivian, has leveraged expertise from the automotive sector to accelerate the development of electric boats. By utilizing components from established suppliers, Arc has streamlined the manufacturing process, reducing the time from concept to delivery.
Backed by $110 million in early-stage funding from celebrity angel investors and venture capital firms, including Kevin Durant, Will Smith, and Andreessen Horowitz, Arc Boat Company is poised to lead the charge in electrifying the boating industry. With plans to begin deliveries of the Arc Sport later this year, the company aims to set a new standard for sustainable water sports experiences.
