Ariana Grande cannot help but look back at the year 2023 and wonder over the changes she went through.
“One of the most transformative, most challenging and yet happiest and most special years of my life,” wrote the singer in a lengthy Instagram Story post recently. She continued that throughout the years, she came across many “beautiful yet polarizing feelings” and has never felt more mercy towards “acceptance of what life was screaming to teach me.”
It seems that Ariana has had her share of ups and downs. In July, it was confirmed by multiple outlets that she broke up with her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez. Two months later, she filed for a divorce and listed their date of separation as February 20, 2023.
It was not long before Ariana moved on with Ethan Slater, with whom she has worked in Wicked. A few days after the news of their romance surfaced online, Ethan filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Lily Jay, whom he married in 2018 and shares one child. Lily had slammed Ariana at the time saying, “My family is just collateral damage.”
In her lengthy note, she explained that she has “never felt more” protected by her family, friends, and fans as she has endured a lot over this year.
