
Abdul Samad (born 28 October 2001) is an Indian cricketer. He was born in Kala Kot in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. He made his T20 debut for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 21 February 2019. He made his List A debut on 27 September 2019, for Jammu & Kashmir in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made his first-class debut on 9 December 2019, for Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy. Sunrisers Hyderabad recognized the talent of the youngster and were quick to pick him up in the auction ahead of Dream11 IPL 2020. Samad is an attacking young right-handed batsman and is very handy with the ball in hand as well. He is a part-time right-arm leg spin bowler.
Abdul Samad idiolizes former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan who has also been his coach with the Jammu & Kashmir team. Irfan Pathan has always highly praised young Samad and also mentors the youngster.
