Food delivery giant Zomato enlists Delhi’s ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’

A video of an elderly couple in tears, who runs a small eatery named ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’, went viral on social media. The couple has been struggling to keep their food business alive as people have been avoiding to eat out amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Food delivery giant has enlisted Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, ‘Baba Ka Dhabha‘ to enable food deliveries.

A video of an elderly couple in tears, who runs a small eatery named ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’, went viral on social media. The couple has been struggling to keep their food business alive as people have been avoiding to eat out amid the Coronavirus pandemic. The woman and man are 80 years old who have been working since 1988.

In the video, Kanta Prasad, the man when asked about how much he earns every day, took out new Rs 10 notes from the drawer. He showed the vessels containing dal, soya curry, and other dishes that are ready to serve. The video caused #BabaKaDhaba and #MalviyaNagar to trend on Twitter and resulted in people queuing up outside the dhabha.

Soon after the video went viral on social media. Many celebrities including Raveena Tandon, Swara Bhaskar, Randeep Hooda, Suniel Shetty, Athiya Shetty and Nimrat Kaur extended their support to the elderly couple. The video came into notice by AAP MLA Somnath Bharti who assured help and walked the talk. He visited the elderly couple’s food joint and pledged to take care of them.

The Indian restaurant aggregator tweeted extending their support, “baba ka dhaba is now listed on zomato and our team is working with the elderly couple there to enable food deliveries
