Real Madrid have been plunged into fresh controversy after Jude Bellingham publicly rubbished reports of a rift with former head coach Xabi Alonso, just hours after the Spaniard was sacked following a dramatic 3-2 defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final.
The chaos erupted after claims surfaced suggesting a “bad relationship” between Bellingham and Alonso, fuelled by viral images and speculative narratives on social media. One image, widely shared online, appeared to show a tense exchange between the England midfielder and the coach during a touchline moment. The rumours quickly snowballed, painting a picture of dressing-room unrest at Valdebebas.
However, Bellingham moved swiftly to shut down the speculation. In a strongly worded statement shared online, the 21-year-old did not hold back, calling the reports “what a load of s***” and accusing sections of the media of pushing false narratives for clicks and engagement.
Until now I’ve let far too many of these slide, always hoping the truth would come out in its own time,” Bellingham wrote. “But honestly, let me say this clearly, what a load of s***.”
Despite the midfielder’s emphatic denial, Real Madrid’s hierarchy have already made a ruthless decision. Xabi Alonso has been relieved of his duties following the Super Cup final defeat, a result that reportedly proved to be the final straw after weeks of mounting pressure and inconsistent performances.
