Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi could be on the move in the January transfer window, with head coach Oliver Glasner admitting the club may be forced to prioritise financial considerations over sporting ones. The England international is out of contract in June, and Palace risk losing him for free if no agreement is reached in the coming months.

Speaking about Guéhi’s future, Glasner openly acknowledged the reality of the situation, stating that if a significant offer arrives and the player wants to leave, the club will have little choice but to consider a sale. “His contract ends in the summer and if somebody is coming, there will be a moment when the club says the financial issue is more important than the sport issue,” Glasner said.

Manchester City are reportedly keen on Guéhi as they look to address their centre-back issues. Pep Guardiola’s side have faced defensive injuries this season, creating what has been described as a “centre-back emergency.” With Guéhi’s contract situation making him a more attainable target, City are believed to want to reach an agreement sooner rather than later.

Glasner further explained that the final decision will depend on both the player’s wishes and the value of the offer. “If the player says: I want to leave and the money is above the threshold, it will happen,” he added.
