SpiceJet is set to further expand its fleet, with plans to unground 10 aircraft by mid‐April 2025. This includes the return of four Boeing 737 MAX planes, a move that will significantly boost its operational capabilities and network. The airline’s current fleet of 28 aircraft will see notable growth, even as some planes are redelivered to lessors.
Since October 2024, SpiceJet has successfully added 10 new aircraft to its fleet. This includes three previously grounded planes that have been brought back into service and seven leased aircraft. The expansion of the fleet aligns with the airline’s aggressive strategy to increase its presence and enhance connectivity for passengers.
As part of its network growth, SpiceJet has introduced over 60 new flights in just three months, significantly enhancing passenger options and routes. Additionally, the airline has forged a key partnership with StandardAero Inc., a US-based engine MRO provider, to restore its grounded Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The airline’s collaboration with CFM International and key lessors has been instrumental in the return of these aircraft to service.
SpiceJet has also worked to resolve disputes with major lessors and partners, including Export Development Canada, Aircastle, and Engine Lease Finance Corporation. These efforts underline the airline’s commitment to operational stability and future growth, ensuring it remains well-positioned to meet the demands of the aviation market.
