Air India’s first A350 aircraft will reach Delhi on December 24, will initially fly short routes

Air India’s first wide-body Airbus A350-900 plane is set to land in Delhi on December 24, 2022. According to Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson, the aircraft will initially operate on short-haul routes.

The airline plans to induct a total of six A350 aircraft in the first phase, making it the first Indian carrier to have this model in its fleet. The arrival marks a significant milestone for the revamped Air India.

Air India’s engineers have already received regulatory approval for line maintenance of A350 and A320 planes. The induction of the A350s demonstrates the airline’s commitment to expanding and modernizing its fleet.

In addition to the new aircraft, Air India has also introduced new uniforms for ground staff, cabin crew, cockpit crew and Air India Express employees as part of its transformation. The first A350 will be deployed on short-haul routes before being expanded to long-haul flights.
