Air India agrees to purchase 250 airbus planes as part of its expansion plans

250 Airbus aircraft will be delivered to Air India: 210 single-aisle A320neos and 40 widebody A350s. It intends to purchase 220 Boeing aircraft: 190 737 MAX narrowbody aircraft, 20 787 wide-body aircraft, and 10 777X aircraft.

On February 14, the airline Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, announced that it has inked contracts with Airbus SE for the supply of roughly 250 new aircraft.

Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairperson of the Tata Group, stated at an online press conference that “Air India is not just another airline, it is a national endeavour, and it holds the hopes and aspirations of millions of Indians.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, CEO of Airbus SE Guillaume Faury, Air India CMD Campbell Wilson, Ratan Tata, and Minister of Civil Aviation of India Jyotiraditya Scindia made the announcement during an online press conference.
