
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has defended the Agriculture Bills of Centre and said that these bills will reform the sector and empower farmers. He said that with the implementation of these bills, farmers will be able to freely trade their produce anywhere.
“These Bills will empower the farmers to freely trade their produce anywhere. I want to make it clear that these Bills is not against the agriculture mandis,” he said.
He congratulated farmers and said that this reform is the need of the hour in the agriculture sector. He also added that the BJP government did this reform for the benefit of the farmer community. His statement comes amid widespread protest and backlash against the 3 controversial farm bills. Farmers in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and opposition parties have been protesting for weeks against the ‘anti-farmer’ bills.
